Presenters – Christine Hamlett and Newark Public Schools student Alonzo Hamlett

This workshop will review GLSEN Research regarding the school experiences of LGBT students. As a highlight of the workshop, Alonzo Hamlett, junior at a Newark High School will provide some insights on his school experiences relating to race, ethnicity and coming out.  GLSEN reports that half of the students of color experienced verbal harassment in schools. What are your experiences? What can be done to address this problem?
